After living..

in Venice Beach for 5 years, this week’s Guest Hunter, Louisa Eckersley, her husband and their little girl moved to a new home in West Los Angeles. With the recent move, Louisa has been busy finding furniture and art.  That’s lucky for us; she’s got a fantastic eye and an extensive list. (Something which just makes sense when you realize her husband is an artist and Louisa has a jewelry business.) Her company, Torchlight Jewelry, specializes in crystal necklaces and silver bracelets – all of which are really wearable, provide great energy and pretty much the perfect way to add edge and individuality to the everyday.

Ella is now almost 1 and it’s very apparent she and her husband are busy parenting, making the most of their time with their daughter and having a lot of fun along the way. When she’s not busy with her daughter, working or sourcing furniture, Louisa loves spending time outdoors (she’s counting down the days until Ella can come along camping), cooking, traveling, and making the trip to Santa Barbara to visit with friends and family. She’s an inspiring lady with a lot of style and ton to share. It’s hard to do her justice in a couple paragraphs, so keep on reading to figure it out for yourself!

HOME:

The Rose Bowl Flea Market - the second Sunday of the month in Pasadena CA.

I absolutely love going to flea markets! We just moved into a new house and had previously sold all our furniture so almost every Sunday we go to one of the flea markets near LA. The Rose Bowl is the big daddy of them all and it’s best to go early.. 5am This is when you’ll score the best finds, avoid the crowds & hot sun. We’ve found amazing mid century vintage furniture, some of our favorite art work, kilim rugs, jewelry & more.

We are currently on the look out on craigslist and flea markets for a
pair of vintage leather chairs. Love these.

Shu Umera – Essense Absolue Hair Oil smells amazing and does wonders for my hair which gets very dry.

The Aqua Aura Cactus Quartz Necklace from Torchlight. I love crystals and their meaning.

HIS:

My next present for my honey, this phone case.

KIDS:

Bobux Baby Shoes.  These are the ONLY shoes that have stayed on Ella’s feet! So cozy. They have lots to choose from!

I love knitting but haven’t had much time since Ella was born. I should start now for next winter! This scarf is my next project inspiration.

children. What an amazing present this would make someone very
special.

Mushroom Poof

We are going to build Ella a teepee or a blanket fort. Having a little one is wonderful because it reminds me to be playful and make a mess. I’m told it goes by quickly so I’m trying to soak it all in and enjoy every moment! Having a baby has been a great lesson in priorities. We try to keep our home set up with Ella in mind so that she can reach her toys and explore her world safely.

Ella already loves books. We bought her these for later on but already read them to her. My favorite is Wind in the Willows. I remember loving the story when I was little. I really want Ella to enjoy reading and in our modern world with computers and children playing on ipads I think it’s important to spend time getting to know books. Her current favorite books are the Sara Gillingham collection with the little puppets inside.

FOOD:

My current obsession is Green and Black’s organic 70% dark chocolate. It makes me happy.

True Foods Restaurant in Santa Monica.  They make this amazing drink called the hangover with coconut water, a little fresh orange & pineapple juice & fresh vanilla bean. It is so refreshing and easy to make at home.

GREAT THINGS:

Dedon hanging nest! Everyone should have one of these! Too bad they cost an arm and 2 legs. I love the idea of napping in a nest in the garden.

Moss Graffiti. This is genius.

Tiles that change color with heat. I love playful products! This is so much fun.

Convert your handwriting into a font. Haven’t tried this yet but what a great idea!
