Guest Hunter, Riley Bennett
into another week of Guest Hunting with Riley Bennett. Riley was born and raised in Seattle. She moved to New York to go to the Fashion Institute of Technology and ultimately work in the fashion industry. In addition to her obsession with fashion (she adores contemporary brands like Rag & Bone and Alexander Wang), Riley’s very into anything that involves a pug and she’s got a blog: Pretty Ugly Things which focuses on style obsession and “that’s so ugly its cute” things.
Riley’s one of those people who can find humor in any situation and is a true individual. This wise young lady has got a lot to say, so you’ve got to read on!
HOME:

Retro Postcard Set
I love the look of framed art. Anything that catches my eye or inspires me is art in my mind so I frame magazine editorials I like or any type of prints I find. At a little shop in Seattle called
Assemble Gallery & Studio you can purchase pieces from their gallery shows online. I found this adorable retro postcard set there that I turned into framed pieces of art that I love.

HERS:

Maizie Dress
Peter pan collars are my latest obsession. The rounded collar adds a little something sweet and whimsical to any look. I tend to lean more towards button down shirts, thick knit sweaters and skinny jeans usually, but there is something about this touch of feminine style that makes me want to add it to my wardrobe. (
Maizie Dress sold at Need Supply and
THE ROW Perch-Collar Silk Blouse is available at Bergdorf Goodman)

HIS:

Alexander Wang Brushed Felt Varsity Jacket with Leather Sleeves
Mixed and matched textiles always catch my eye as does anything by Alexander Wang. Thus I fell in love with this leather sleeved varsity style jacket by Alexander Wang. I have been hunting for a leather paneled coat for some time now, so I am a bit jealous this one’s only for the boys.
KIDS:

Pug Figurines
Being a lover of all things that are “so ugly their cute”(
again, check out her blog: Pretty Ugly Things) things I happen to be a huge fan of pugs. As a kid (and maybe even now I admit) I am always on the lookout for all things pug related and was pleased to find Schliech toys has fantastic detailed
pug figurines. If pugs aren’t your kid’s thing, don’t worry Schliech has every animal prehistoric, fantasy, and present. Check out their amazing
selection from princesses to woolly mammoths.
FOOD:

Curly's Lunch
I have been a vegetarian for about 3 years now, but I secretly miss the taste of meat so I am always on the hunt for great tasting veggie meat options. All my wishes were answered when I came to find
Curly’s Lunch in Gramercy. They have everything from veggie sausage to bacon to chicken burritos. The food is great and even a non vegetarian will love it. Its a quirky little place, but a great find for vegetarians like me who like having options. Not to mention you always get a paper place mat and a crayons to entertain yourself and your dining partner while waiting for your food. If you get lucky your place mat could even end up on their wall which proudly displays layers of customer’s place mat art work.
