Guest Hunters, Lucy & Stella Pappas

Meet..

Guest Hunters, Lucy & Stella Pappas

Guest Hunters, Lucy & Stella Pappas

Lucy (14) and Stella (10), two friends of threetwentyeight that live in Burlington, Vermont. Their passion for frocks and accessories started as soon as they could walk and access the bins of costumes and sunglasses that their mom has enthusiastically collected over the years.

Their passions lie in the dramatic and visual art world. Acting, singing, dancing, creating, making movies (twopinkable on youtube, if you have a moment), being on stage, watching movies (latest favorite is Brand New Day) and going to the theatre! (If you are in the Burlington area… come see their friends in Lyric Theatre’s Hairspray Nov 10-13). Most of all, Lucy and Stella are a rare breed of sisters.  They are best friends and collaborators and support each others talents and ideas. The picks that Lucy and Stella have chosen to share with threetwentyeight are “trinkets” that they have found and a couple of things near and dear to their hearts. As you can tell, they’re two special people who are true individuals with a lot of talent. We’re thrilled to have them along sharing their picks from around the world. Enjoy!

HOME:

Angela Adams Rug

Angela Adams Rug

We love all things Angela Adams… from notecards, to door mats, to pillows on the porch…and this rug!   It is the first thing you see when you come into our house. It is warm and soft… and we end up lying on it nearly every day playing with our dog, Moby.

Angela Adams is from Portland, Maine and her beautiful designs are inspired by the ocean and landscape where Mom grew up.  We think it is Mom’s way of bringing the ocean to our house in Vermont.

HERS:

Officine904 Market Bag

Officine904 Market Bag

Our pick from  Mom’s stuff is this bag she found in Pienza, Italy last summer. We traveled with only carry-on so keepsakes were tiny… Somehow Mom managed to fit this bag in! It is simple and buttery … so soft she says she could wear it…. and it has a leash for her keys… and no zippers to snag on sweaters. They packaged the bag in a tube like a poster…. very cool… very special.

HIS:

Old Gringo Boots

Old Gringo Boots

Our pick from Dad’s things…. these Old Gringo boots, of course! We went to Austin, Texas last year for Thanksgiving and decided to have Christmas early by getting cowboy and girl boots. Dad walked out with these…. We only wish they fit us!!!!

KIDS:

Lucy wearing Lilian Asterfield

Lucy wearing Lilian Asterfield

We have to go with two FAVORITE trinkets.  We LOVE headbands and hats.

This beautiful piece on Lucy is made from old neckties by Lilian Asterfield.  We met Lilian at a side-street stand a few years ago in the South End of Boston. Totally cool things.

Stella in her Chia Hat

Stella in her Chia Hat

And…. this Chia Hat… Stella found it in a store called Parts & Labour (featuring local artists) in Austin, TX.  It is a statement for sure.  But very warm.  Lucy has a brown one that Mom has her eyes on for her next wintery trip to Montreal.

FOOD:

Shelburne Farms Cheddar

Shelburne Farms Cheddar

We have found many food treats in Vermont and along the roads we have traveled…. but for our first time on threetwentyeight, we must sing the praise of Shelburne Farms Cheddar! The cheese is made in the same barn where we have gone to school for many years.  Shelburne Farms is an amazing treasure…a visit to our end of Vermont is not complete without a stop at this beautiful place. The cheddar is fantastic. Try some!!!!!!!

GREAT THINGS:

Empty Boxes

Empty Boxes

Empty boxes!!!!!!!!  An empty box is the beginning of a whole new thing every time. We love our glue guns and boxes of art supplies!!
